Imagine a green, fertile farm field in a lush valley. A variety of crops vie for space in this field. Each crop represents a religion. The boundaries of the farmed area change to adapt to the harvest, increasing when religion abounds, and shrinking when religions fall away. You notice a series of store houses dotting the outer perimeter of the field. The sides of the store houses are made of clear glass, and you can see how plentiful the seeds of each harvest are, and you can also see a history of each season's harvest, as the height of the grains is marked by each previous year. Some store houses are filled to overflowing this year, and some are almost empty. You see some farmers gathering seed from the store houses and planting these, to ensure the harvest is plentiful in ensuing seasons, and you notice other farmers who are harvesting the ripe crops for storage. One particular store house attracts you, as you notice that the harvest for the last ten years has been steadily shrinking each year, and you read the sign at the top that says, Christianity, all denominations. You wonder why the harvest has been decreasing. Why is this particular grain no longer of interest to farmers? Then you notice that each of the other store houses have been increasing their store of harvest each year.
You are aghast when you see that some farmers from the other religions are using the Christian storehouse to store some of their harvest. Excuse me, you say as you rush over to one farmer, why are you placing your crop in the Christian storehouse?
The person looks at you, a bit surprised, and says, oh they don't mind. We have noticed they are not planting new crops and their crop harvest is dwindling year by year. Maybe they are growing a crop that no-one wants anymore. We don't want to see another store house removed, as we have plenty of harvest we need to sow and harvest, and we expect a bumper crop next year.
